Manu Madhav

Principal Investigator

Dr. Manu Madhav is currently an Assistant Professor with the School of Biomedical Engineering and the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health at UBC.

Dr. Madhav is a robotics, controls and mechanical engineer turned neuroscientist, whose research involves studying biological systems at both behavioral and neural levels using carefully engineered experimental apparatus. The general focus is to understand a particular neural circuit or behavior through an integrative, whole-animal approach. The insights garnered from these studies can inform biology in the form of increasing our knowledge about behavior, computations and mechanisms, as well as have engineering applications, such as biomimetics and robotics, in the form of novel computational algorithms and approaches to integrating sensing, computation and actuation.
